Glenn Beck expertly glamoured Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in NY-23 into “un-conceding“:

HOFFMAN: If that’s possible, yes.
I have to say, what an awesome answer. I mean, you don’t want to be recklessly saying yes to the impossible. What we have here is a careful, deliberate man! But don’t you go clicking away thinking he can’t bring it. How does a guy buck up his supporters when he “un-concedes” an election “if that’s possible”? He tweets!

So I know you’re asking yourself something along the lines of: “Miracle on Ice? Was Doug Hoffman a part of the USA hockey team of true amateurs who stunned the legendary Soviets and then went on to beat Finland in the Gold Medal game in the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics?”
Well … by “a part of” Hoffman meant he was the Assistant Controller, then Corporate Controller of the 1980 Olympic Organizing Committee. Thus Hoffman didn’t log a lot of ice time.
